“Financially, NYFF has done a lot of tremendous things, as we at Opportunity Knocks have gone through steps they have been with us through each step. NYFF has helped us with our farm, participated in our softball tournament, thrown galas and since we have been partnering together NYFF has raised over $85K for us!”  - Michael Carmody, Opportunity Knocks Gala

REBUILDING

KNOCKOUT

FARM

When Opportunity Knocks learned that their beloved Knockout Farm, an essential space for connection, growth, purpose, and of course their prized pickles, was at risk due to the sale of the land it resided on, they faced a tough reality: move the farm or lose it entirely.

But if you know OK, you know giving up isn’t their style. They decided to dream bigger, and with a bold vision they set out to not only relocate the farm, but expand its impact! Their plans for the new farm would create a space where the Warriors could dig deeper, grow stronger, and thrive even more.

That’s where we come in. Through the power of a little partying and generous hearts, our fundraising efforts helped support this massive move, laying the groundwork (literally) for a new, permanent home for the Knockout Farm.

To us, the successful relocation of the Knockout Farm is a symbol of what happens when our community shows up, turns out, and gives back.

Our journey as a foundation started with something deeply personal, honoring the life of our classmate and friend, Kelli Joy O’Laughlin. After her life was tragically cut short, our community came together not just to grieve, but to act. We knew we had to turn our heartbreak into something meaningful.

As classmates, we were proud to play a role in supporting the Kelli Joy O’Laughlin Memorial Foundation, raising donations for some of the foundation’s first scholarships and leading the charge to rename the I-294 bridge in Indian Head Park as the Kelli Joy O’Laughlin Memorial Bridge.

Supporting the foundation’s mission to spread “JOY” through education, kindness, and opportunity was our first real taste of what this kind of work could do, and it lit the spark that eventually became Not Your Father’s Foundation.

We’re proud of where we started. And even prouder of the joy we’ve helped carry forward.
